Dúradáin Mheabhracha (Thinking Dominoes) is a fun way to learn and strengthen Irish using the important skill of categorisation. Categorisation helps people to learn, organise and remember vocabulary.
There are 48 cards in the game. There is a name of a category on the top of each domino card and on the bottom of each card is a picture of something from a different category.
Players join the cards into a chain, always making sure that a picture is placed adjacent to an appropriate category/concept word, or vice versa.
Players have to make more than simple one to one matches: They have to think about what category the illustrations belong to before they match the cards. This makes the game more challenging.
Each box contains instructions in Irish and in English.
